Mediatek Dimensity 1200
- Mediatek launched their first 5G modem, named Helio M70 in last year's Dimensity 1000 series processors, but this one only supports the sub-6Ghz network. Now the new Helio M80 5G modem will support both the mmWave and sub-6Ghz 5G networks thus making it more future-proof than that of Helio M70.
- MediaTek M70 chip. It is understood that MediaTek’s Helio M70 chip supports 2/3/4/5G network, supports 5G NR (new air interface), supports independent networking (SA) and non-independent networking (NSA), and supports Sub-6GHz frequency band.
MediaTek is the next manufacturer to introduce a chipset with 5G capabilities. The modem is called Helio M70 and will be built by TSMC on the 7nm process, incorporating EUV technology.
